Three's Company

Every once in a while you are going to be in a bidding war where you get into a nice rhythm.  You bid, they bid, you bid, they bid and on like that for a while.  Then suddenly another bidder will jump in to the mix.  What do you do?  Do you outbid them or wait for your rival to outbid them?  After all, you don't want to waste a bid just to be outbid moments later.  The bad news is that this kind of stand-off often ends with the new bidder winning because both of the original bidders are waiting for the other to place the next bid.  The smart move is to wait 10 seconds to see what happens, then place your Bid.  Remember, the key is to stay on top, no matter who gets into the mix.
